East Champaran, September 20 (HS). Under the Chief Minister Bal Hriday Yojana, 5 children of the district suffering from serious problem of hole in the heart, have been sent to Patna for treatment. From where he will be sent to Ahmedabad for surgery.
These children include Arjun Kumar (11 years) of Raxaul, Umang Kumar of Sugauli, Ramesh Kumar (13 years) of Kesariya, Divyansh Kumar (4 years) of Bada Bariyarpur and Megha Kumari (10 months) of Jamla Road, Motihari. Giving this information, RBS District Coordinator Dr. Manish Kumar said that under the National Child Health Programme, the health of children was checked from time to time by organizing camps at various Anganwadi centres, schools and other places in the district. In which some children were screened if they showed symptoms related to heart disease. After that these children were sent to IGIC along with their parents. After which, after examination, he will be sent to Satya Sai Hospital, Ahmedabad for surgery.
Dr. Manish Kumar said that in the year 2023, 45 children of the district were found suffering from heart disease during screening. In which 40 children have been marked for surgery, while 16 children have undergone surgery for heart disease. There are 24 children waiting there. On the other hand, 5 children are expected to recover with medicines and treatment. He told that
Under this programme, there is also a provision for free treatment of a total of 43 diseases occurring in children. Among these, heart related diseases, respiratory diseases, congenital disability, cleft lip and palate related diseases of the child are prominent.
